CASTE PROJECTS POP-UP SHOP!

The studio that my wife Hanahlie and I run together, Caste Projects, is opening up a one month temporary design shop and open studio workspace. The opening of the space will conincide with the launch of a small collection of furniture and home-wares, as well as a curated selection of new products from local and international designers.
OPENING PARTY:
Friday, August 5 · 6:00pm - 9:00pm
196 Kingsway (at 10th Ave) Vancouver, BC
This is a big step for us, as we’ll be showcasing self-initiated work, in the form of objects and furniture, that will be for sale. We’re also very excited about all of the other people whose work we’ll have in the shop as well:

RED FLAG DESIGN
ZILLION DESIGN

STRANGER THINGS MILLINERY
LARRY
MEG HUBERT
TIERKUNDE

BEN SKINNER AND GENEVIEVE DIONNE
THE FOUND AND THE FREED
and us:
Come to the opening party. Come visit the shop. No excuses!
Not sure why I never posted this here. This video is a short promo we did with our good friends from Lark, on how to re-wax Barbour jackets. In my opinion, Lark is one of Vancouver’s best little clothing shops. They carry a fantastic mix of heritage brands, European, Japanese, American, and local designers. Their merchandising is always incredibly charming, and the atmosphere is a breath of fresh air compared to nose-in-the-air gastown boutiques, or crammed mall-stores.
We’re working on our next project together, and I’ll be sure to post it as soon as it’s done…
Just plain Rad.

Birthday Cats!
My good friends from Lark, gave me a copy of the amazing United Bamboo Cat Calendar for my birthday Yesterday…
It walks that fine line between pure kitsch, and pure genius. The amazing print-job shifts it more toward the latter.

I’ve been waiting a long time to post this video. It got hung up somewhere between the edit being finished, and the official release. It debuted while I was away travelling, so I’m only now getting the chance to start sharing it.
I directed the video, and built the set along with Hanahlie Beise and a team of friendly and volunteers. Given the lack of support from any grant-funding bodies or record labels, we’re incredibly happy with how it turned out. Major thanks to Ryan Dahle himself for being so open, collaborative, and supportive of the project.
The Second Habit Coffee location in Victoria BC. Designed by Shane Devereaux and my company, CASTE. It couldn’t have been done without the help of Tommy Devereaux, Michel, Patti Chiappini of Indelible Paint Works, and my partner Hanahlie Beise.
